ART

Avant-garde

And so it began...

Art has always been a love of mine.

As a small child I wanted to be a Sculptor or run an Art Gallery, then later an Architect.

 Society would have different plans.

Doing well in my academics, I was placed in the college track. I was not allowed to take the classes that interested me, wood shop, art, architectural drawing, etc.  for they were not the classes needed for college entrance.

I conformed.

I became a pharmacist.

Now, I love helping others and cherish the relationships that developed over my career,  but it is a tough job.

A job, like many others, that only got harder during the pandemic.

When the vaccine became available our workload became unfathomable. 100+ immunizations on top of an already heavy workload.

After a rough weekend shift, I needed help. I was at a cusp, something needed to change, to renew my spirit and strength. My daughter, an art therapist, suggested I try a process painting.

"Avant-garde" appeared after 5 layers and became my savior. She showed me the value and necessity of creativity for my health.
